This report describes the WaterBee demonstration and workshop that took place on 22nd March 2013 at Parc Mediterrani de la Tecnologia of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Castelldefels, Barcelona.

This World Water Day 2013 event in conjunction with the Federació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya, the Catalan Regional Government and Castelldefels City Council aimed to disseminate awareness of the WaterBee system to knowledgeable users and potential future customers for the system.

During the last phase of demonstration trials it was an opportunity for the Partners to demonstrate the significant water-saving capabilities of the WaterBee system and to get further feedback from the relevant actors attending the event on the system’s functionality, service and commercial potential.

This document contains notes of and the presentations made at the workshop, as well as other relevant information on the WaterBee demonstration.

This report describes the WaterBee exhibition and workshop that took place on 9th November 2012, at the EIMA 2012 (International Agriculture Machinery Exhibition) in Bologna, Italy. This high profile event aimed to disseminate awareness of the WaterBee system to knowledgable users and potential future customers for the system.

During the demonstration trials it was also an opportunity for the Partners to get feedback from the relevant and knowledgeable actors attending the event and the exhibition, on the WaterBee system functionality, service and commercial potential.

This document contains notes of and the presentations made at the workshop, as well as other relevant information on the WaterBee stand and exhibition.

WaterBee DA D3.2 System Operational at all Demonstration Sites V1.0 Apr12

This report describes the scaled-up WaterBee field prototype system, that is now operational at all 6 Demonstration Sites, including the configurations of each site, coordination and management of the installations, the procedures involved and the supports in place for the duration of the demonstration pilots.

The actual management of the installations on the ground was managed by the local consortium partners at each of the sites, as follows: Estonia (SEEDRI), Italy (OSV), Malta (CMF), Spain (INTER), Sweden (LAQUA) and the UK (CU) to achieve this milestone in the project.

In addition to the initially planned demonstration trial in each of the 6 countries, there are currently 8 individual trials in operation, and another 7 planned to begin shortly. The project is also in active discussions with a number of further demonstration sites that will be operational within the next few months, hopefully some of those will be in countries beyond the initial 6, listed above.

All of these many demonstration sites will enable a fuller evaluation and validation of the system with many crops and in many different contexts and situations, enabling WaterBee to be subsequently productized and commercialized not just as an European, but as a global, solution.

 WaterBee DA D2.5 Scaled-up System Operational V1.0 Feb12

This report describes the complete scale-up of the WaterBee system from the proof of concept prototype developed in the previous WATER-BEE Research Project. A more reliable, user friendly, cost effective system was required for the Demonstration trials to achieve successful evaluation and validation of the system. The operational support service and procedures that have been put in place for the Demonstration Pilots are also described.

The scale-up and hardening of all major components of the WaterBee system, including its architecture, database, communications, sensor nodes, management website and soil-moisture model software is complete, and the operational WaterBee system is now running. The system was successfully installed and is operational in one of the demonstration sites to facilitate early field testing and evaluation prior to deployment across all 6 demonstration sites.

The project is now focused on planning, building and testing the WaterBee systems for the remaining 5 demonstration sites that will be rolled out in Estonia, Italy, Malta, Spain, Sweden and the UK, in the coming weeks.
